We also offer combined experiences in multi-disciplines such as visual art and music, music and drama, visual arts, etc.
Ceramics
Students will learn basic techniques in hand-building: pinch pots, coil, and slab. Older students learn both hand-building and how to throw pottery on the wheel. All projects will be glazed by students and fired on- or off-site depending on location.
Visual Art: Comics + Characters
Get into Character!! Create characters and comics, exploring visual storytelling using industry techniques such as story boarding. Perfect for students interested in character design, animation, graphic novels and comics.
Studio Art: Painting, Drawing and Mixed-Media
Students will explore methods of drawing and painting with professional materials: charcoal, graphite, watercolor, acrylic, ink and fine papers. They will discover modern and contemporary artists as they learn techniques in shading, blending, building texture, mixing colors and paint application. Vibrant 2-D and 3-D mixed-media projects will also be offered, often incorporating upcycled and recycled materials.
Introduction to Music
Increase self-esteem and develop fine motor skills through experimenting with instruments: strumming, drumming, humming, plucking and movement. Rhythm patterns, call and response exercises, and instrument building will all be part of this musical experience.
Drama: Theater, Storytelling + Pantomime
Students will build individual strengths and communication skills through rhythm games, story dramatization and creative movement. Improvisation, pantomime, and theater exercises will also be incorporated as students let loose their inner actors.
