This course is the second part of our Fall Ceramics Series and welcomes students of all experience levels. Whether you’re continuing from the first session or joining us for the first time, clay offers endless opportunities for creativity. Continuing students will hone existing skills and learn new ones. Beginning students will learn basics: how to throw pottery on the wheel to create functional pieces such as cups, bowls, vases, and plates. We’ll also explore hand-building techniques—pinch, coil, and slab—to shape embossed tiles, plaques, pinch and coil pots, figurines, boxes and pots.
